Happy New Year everyone! How did you see the new year in? We had a quiet night at home watching a movie together as a family followed a little later by the Sydney Harbour fireworks at midnight.
It was not what we had initially planned but poor weather meant we couldn’t go down to our local headland to watch the firework’s so we had forced family time and it was fun.
It’s always a little strange welcoming in a new year without a big party surrounded by lots of people but strangely I think it was what we needed.
2023 was a big year. Like so many of you we had ups and downs and lots of back and forth but we made it through yet another year and how lucky are we to be able to wake up and do it again when so many cant.
I don’t believe in resolutions. I just try to be the best version of myself all the time and if I have moments where I’m not so great, well that’s ok because I am only human after all.
I am bracing for another year of ADHD ups and downs. More assessments, more advocating and more learning but I know I can do it.
2024 will see the start of an exciting new venture for me personally. One that I think will really help my community and give many other parents like me the chance to share, grow and be the best version of ourselves for our ADHD children and families. I will share more as it comes to be.
I wish you all an amazing year ahead. Make it count and have no regrets. Everyone’s journey is unique and deserves to be heard.
Thank you for all your support, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
